I met CMS for the first time about 3-4 years ago. It was Joomla, or rather its prototype, or Mambo. I admit that I was rather not impressed by the idea of creating advanced websites using contemporary CMS. They were heavy, difficult to install, manage and poor in terms of working plugins. However, subsequent versions of the free CMS software became better and better, giving possibilities that in their first versions could only be dreamed of.

We currently have at least a dozen or so pretty good content management systems. In this series of articles I will devote attention to those who in my daily work obtained the status of the best:
- Drupal - CMS DRUPAL
- Joomla - CMS JOOMLA
- WordPress - WORDPRESS - blogs
- Moodle - LMS MOODLE
Of course, this is only my subjective assessment, but supported by several years of knowledge and practice in the field of content management systems - CMS. In several articles I will discuss the most important possibilities offered by: Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, Moodle. It is worth mentioning that while Drupal and Joomla are classic content management systems, WordPress and Moodle were created for slightly different purposes. Moodle was created as LMS (Learning Management System), which is the historical usefulness of the WordPress system was only suitable for blogging.

In their latest versions: Drupal, Joomla, WordPress and Moodle by extending their own capabilities and a whole bunch of various additional plugins, extensions, etc., have become systems with a very wide application. Actually only Moodle through e-learning orientation has slightly limited possibilities as CMS, but it is a great tool for conducting remote trainings and courses via the Internet - e-learning.
